This fatty acid, naturally found in the skin, has several properties:
- emollient, to soothe and soften the skin,
- thickening, to enable the formation and stabilisation of the product’s texture and provide it with consistency,
- stabilising, for mineral sunscreens,
- emulsifying, to enable the formation and stabilisation of the product’s texture.
